We have seen immense progress in computing technology over the past years. It is a common belief that 21st century was the dawn of innovative technologies but the truth is that many innovations were just the product of advanced computing. In 2014, we saw tech giants competing with one another on newer operating systems and smart devices. It seems 2015 will just be another year for upgraded versions of existing technology but they are still worth waiting for.

1. Apple Watch
The Apple Watch was introduced in September this year but it is expected to be launched in early 2015. You can explore its features here.
2. Beats Music To Be Integrated With iTunes
Apple’s $3 billion purchase of Beats Music confirms the rumors about a possible integration of Beats Music into iTunes. This integration can make iTunes a viable competitor to popular services like Spotify. According to Re/code’s Peter Kafka, Apple is considering to make its streaming service cheaper than Spotify which will be more appealing to users.
3. Samsung Galaxy S6
Samsung’s next flagship phone, the Galaxy S6, is rumored to be the biggest upgrade to the Galaxy line. Samsung has even named S6 with “Zero” since it is designing the phone from ground up. It is expected to be launched in early 2015.
4. Apple To Release A Larger Version iPad
Apple is finally catching up to the big screen craze. It is planning to launch a larger version of the iPad with a 12-inch screen – iPad Pro in early 2015.
5. Microsoft Mini Surface
Microsoft was supposed to launch a smaller version of Surface tablet in the spring, but it changed plan at the last minute and introduced the full-sized Surface Pro 3. However, it appears that the idea of Surface mini is not completely dead and we might see the tablet in the market in 2015.
6. New Version Of Microsoft Office
Microsoft Office is definitely getting the heat from its competitors such as Prezi but the company has not given up yet. It is working on a new touch-friendly version of Office for Windows tablets and touchscreen laptops. It will launch around the same time as Windows 10 in 2015.
7. New Version Of HTC One
HTC One launched in 2013 was the only phone that came close to iPhone in terms of looks and built quality. The second version was launched this spring and the third version of HTC One is expected to be launched in March or April 2015.
8. Next Phone From OnePlus To Be A Big Winner
Chinese startup OnePlus released the One which had all the best features as any top-tier phone like the Samsung Galaxy S5 with only about $350 in cost. You can only buy this phone with an invitation from the company which made it even more popular. The new version of the phone will have smaller screen and can be customized. It will be launched in the first half of 2015.
9. Oculus Rift
The Oculus Rift – a virtual reality headset, which Facebook acquired for $2 billion, is still in development. The device is expected to be launched in the second half of 2015. Oculus Rift will initially be used for gaming but in future it will be equally useful for social networks, communication technologies and personal theater.
10. Pebble Smart Watches
Pebble, one of the best smart-watch makers, will launch a new version in early 2015.
11. Samsung To Release Bend Screen Smartphones
Samsung recently announced that it will release bendable screen smartphones in 2015. Samsung is also expected to ship its first phone with a bendable display by the end of 2015.
12. New Version Of Samsung Smartwatches
Maybe 2015 will be a lucky year for Samsung Smartwatches since the previous six were not big hits. Samsung will launch yet another wearable smart watch in 2015. Let’s see what it has stored for us this time.
13. Sony VR Headset
Sony will launch its virtual reality headset by the end of 2015 which is designed to work with Playstation 4. Sony has been working on this head set under Project Morpheus.
14. Windows 10
Microsoft gave the world a small preview of the next version of Windows – Windows 10 which is designed to work on all devices including smartphones, laptops, desktops, and the Xbox. Windows 10 will have a new feature Continuum which can change interface depending on the kind of device being used. It is expected to be launched before the end of 2015.
15. Android M
After Android Lollipop, we can expect only one thing: Google is working on its next OS i.e. Android M probably Milkshake? Muffin? Marshmallow? Well, we can guess more fun names. We might get a sneak peak of the OS at Google I/O in June but it will most likely launch in November 2015.
16. Samsung Galaxy Note 5
The Galaxy Note series has a huge following but Samsung has to work really hard for Galaxy Note 5 to make it different from the latest Note 4 phablet. Note 4 had a powerful 5.7 in 4K screen, S Pen, Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chip with Adreno 420 graphics and many more exciting features. It will be interesting to see what Samsung has planned for Galaxy Note 5 which is expected to be launched in September 2015 at an unpacked event prior to the IFA tradeshow.
17. HTC One Wear
HTC has reportedly put the smartwatch project on hold until it can work out how to make smartwatches useful to consumers. It will take some time before HTC launches One Wear but the wait will be worth it.
