Although the smart bulb technology is not new to the world. The Philips hue and number of such bulbs are already in the market that connects to your smartphone wirelessly and changes color as per your mood.
The problem with such bulbs is that they require a wireless network to get connected and they don’t come cheap. However, Tabu – the company behind the Luman Bulbs have come up with another product in the line, called the LuMini – A Mini version of the original bulbs, these folks developed an year ago. The specialty of LuMini is that it doesn’t require any wireless connection to connect with your smartphone. Instead, it uses Bluetooth technology of your smartphone to get connected with its Native App. It sizes 50% lesser than similar smart bulbs in the market, and reportedly costs 1/7th electric power than normal – 3 Watts. Technically its a great choice for the Night lamp.
Additionally, the Lumen Mini comes with four different bases; E12, E14, E26, E27. That makes it a bit more versatile if your fixtures support different socket sizes. It works with all android and iOS powered devices that features Bluetooth 4.0 technology. Above all, its fair cheap – as you can get your own LuMini for as low as $30 pledge on the company’s Kickstarter campaign.
